Marion Bamford, Simoné Kock, Angela Effiom and Giovanni D’Eramo presented results from their respective flora and fauna studies. Marion Bamford and Simoné Kock presented results from charcoal analysis conducted on the Early Holocene charcoals from Wonderwerk Cave, South Africa. Angela Effiom presented a poster on pollen studies of the Acanthaceae species from west tropical Africa. Giovanni D’Eramo presented results from a study performed on the Late Acheulean fauna from the Cave of Hearths, Makapan Valley, South Africa.
It was an excellent opportunity to meet with scientists from various fields and to discuss how various proxies and methods can be used and combined to reconstruct past climates and environments.
